Before choosing your degree program, you can contact us at +393290189240 to meet with a Rector’s delegate for a consultation to evaluate your interests and aspirations. You can also obtain information about the free services available thanks to the targeted funding we receive each year from the MUR.

Peer tutors

Students who apply to a call that is published once a year, declare their availability to support you, attend a training course with the Le Eli-Che service, and are appointed as "Peer Tutors" by a Rectoral Decree. These tutors are paid to provide 200 hours of service and assist you throughout your studies; all that is required is to make a request to have a tutor from us.

Casual tutors

University students who declare their temporary availability to provide support, on a non-continuous basis.

Instant tutors

Collaborators of Le Eli-Che and staff members who are available to support students with disabilities and learning disorders during national selections for Medicine, Dentistry, Health Care Professions, Veterinary Medicine, and Architecture.

Dyslexia, dysgraphia, dysorthography are specific learning disabilities and do not imply invalidity.

Exams Performance

According to law 104/92, you have the right to take exams under conditions most suitable for your needs (as indicated in your diagnosis), by requesting additional time, written exams instead of oral exams (or vice versa), adequate computer tools, exam texts with enlarged characters, and the accompaniment of a tutor who writes and/or reads for you. You can make requests for all your needs through our request form. Before filling out the form, we invite you to read the Guidelines. You can make requests from a range of support services listed in the requirements table. On your request, we will send you a copy of the “yellow table”, for which you will have to fill out all sections and send back ten days before the exam date.

External mobility

We have a minibus equipped for wheelchair users for transport between different university locations, a weekly booking organization to agree on effective times for your mobility, electric single-seat scooters for people with disabilities, stairlifts, platforms, even a folding wheelchair. Since August 2020, we have been using a Doblo van equipped by the "Associazione Pulmino Amico."

Internal mobility

Students must be able to move easily within the Departments. First of all, it is mandatory to eliminate existing barriers, even though these are not present in new buildings or service structures. Every academic year, a detailed plan is made to eliminate barriers that, although in small numbers, are still present in historic buildings. The University is paying close attention to this issue, and if any barriers have been overlooked, please notify the Delegate immediately. The Delegate will work with the Technical Office to find solutions to the problem, including a "reasonable accommodation" as provided for by the UN Convention.

Online books

Not all publishers provide textbooks in digital format. The student must contact the publisher directly, who will send them a form to be filled out and confirmed by our service.

Available positions

We have equipped accessible computer workstations with internet connection, an adjustable table with remote control, voice synthesis, a computer with wireless keyboard and mouse, and a keyboard for visual impairment, a desktop video magnifier, a Poet Compact, and specific software for learning disabilities in various locations throughout the university, in many departments, libraries, and at the service center in Vicolo dei Mulini no. 5, and in the city at the Ilaria Alpi International Library in Vicolo delle Asse no. 5 and at the Cepdi in Via Stirone no. 4

Autonomy Assistance

We have entered into an agreement with a cooperative providing social and health services to ensure that out-of-town students are supported by qualified healthcare assistants who will take care of their daily needs within the classrooms.

Consultancy Services
Speech therapy, sports, and sports medicine.

Remote controls to access the University

In case of special needs and/or difficulties, we will provide you with a remote control or necessary keys to access the university building where you attend classes.

Temporary permit
If you are experiencing temporary mobility difficulties, we will provide you with a permit to enter the university building where you attend classes with your car.

Removal of architectural barriers

Every academic year, the University creates a detailed plan for removing architectural barriers and identifying buildings where barriers still exist. You can help us by reporting any issue, which we will forward to the technical office to find a solution to the problem or provide a reasonable accommodation as provided for by the UN Convention.

Computer and non-computer tools

Today, there are many computer and non-computer tools available for following lessons and studying. We provide tools that can serve you best, such as computers, scanners, specific software, Braille devices, alphabetical communicators, latest generation Dragon software, Poet-Compact, audio readers, speech synthesis, software for building concept maps, recorders with an interface adaptation that translate phonemes into graphemes (especially useful for deaf people), adjustable tables, suitable seats, and lecterns. You will be provided with the tool that helps you study on loan for as long as you need it.

Accommodation

Hotels, canteens and scholarships services are offered by ER.GO., the Regional Company of Emilia Romagna, which has a local office and the following email address utentipr@er-go.it. The call for applications is published every year in July.

Work experience placements, Internships and Degree thesis

Every degree program includes internships with a specific number of free credits. In other programs, post-graduation internships are required to enroll in professional associations. A certain number of students protected by the service ask to carry out their stages, internships, and thesis projects at Eli-Che.

Study/Travel

Every year a dedicated Erasmus call for students with disabilities is published. The office responsible ensures the absence of barriers in the chosen European city and contacts the relevant office in Rome to communicate the type of disability, the need for a tutor, and suitable tools and aids for the person with disabilities. Increased funding for individual needs is also provided. Other opportunities to travel for study both within the European Community and in other states are offered through calls from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is not easy to convince students with disabilities to leave, despite all possible precautions being taken, as they still fear they may experience discomfort. The anxiety of unfamiliar situations weigh upon them, but we trust that we can convince them, if they are not already convinced.

The right to Attention from the Delegate

For any difficulties and/or questions, you can contact the Rector's delegate, who has the institutional role of coordination, monitoring, and relations with other teachers.

Finally: we offer information and support for:

  • online exam registration;
  • using a photocopier that is available at the service;
  • assisting you with a range of problems, where permitted.
